Information technology IT is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data [1] or information. IT is typically used within the context of business operations as opposed to personal or entertainment technologies.

Information technology and communication and best practices in it lifecycle management. In this work, we focus on the role of Information and Communication Technologies - ICT- to create additional sources of competitive advantage that can help companies to prepare themselves for sustainable growth in the long term. First, we discuss the dynamics of ICTs and the ability to generate innovations with a direct impact on business. Then we present the need for greater balance between goals of short and long term on IT projects. In the third part, we discuss how these new technologies have helped to increase the productivity of information professionals as well as to enhance decision-making process and the satisfaction of the end customer.

The widespread availability of information and communication technologies ICTs has generated new activity contexts that provide opportunities and resources for learning, at the same time as expanding the learning potential of traditional contexts such as the family and schools. Within this framework the present study analyses the frequency with which students of three ages 10, 13 and 16 years participate in ICT-mediated activities outside school, as well as the learning experiences associated with this participation.

To this end, we used a multimethod approach combining administration of a questionnaire with focus groups and individual interviews.

The analysis revealed low rates of participation in ICT-mediated activities outside school and showed that these activities were associated with limited learning experiences. Arnseth, H. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES (ICT)

Information and communications technology ICT is an extensional term for information technology IT that stresses the role of unified communications [1] and the integration of telecommunications telephone lines and wireless signals and computers, as well as necessary enterprise software , middleware , storage and audiovisual, that enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information. The term ICT is also used to refer to the convergence of audiovisual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives to merge the telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution, and management. ICT is an umbrella term that includes any communication device, encompassing radio, television, cell phones, computer and network hardware, satellite systems and so on, as well as the various services and appliances with them such as video conferencing and distance learning. ICT is a broad subject and the concepts are evolving. Theoretical differences between interpersonal-communication technologies and mass-communication technologies have been identified by the philosopher Piyush Mathur. The phrase "information and communication technologies" has been used by academic researchers since the s.

It welcomes novel theoretical and practical interdisciplinary contributions reflecting approaches wherein individuals and ecosystems become points of convergence of data, technologies and applications for the improvement of perception, understanding and dissemination of knowledge, and for the well-being of digital life, without obstacles, every place and at any time. It aims to bring together the researchers from academia and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of ITCC, and to disseminate the most innovative research and development of all aspects of ITCC, including their models, services, and novel applications associated with their utilisation. In accordance with this journal's characteristics and coverage, each paper will be of interest to many clients inside and outside the IT department, but it will be of immediate and compelling value to the following roles:. IJITCC readers can understand future dynamic technologies and business changes and develop new products and services in order for their organisations to flourish. Furthermore, Special Issues devoted to important topics in future generation information technology, communications and convergence will occasionally be published.
